RED LION CHRISTIAN SCHOOL 2010 SUMMER CHILD CARE
We at Red Lion Christian School Child Care Center are grateful for the opportunity to provide care for your child. We are committed to offering a structured, safe, and enjoyable environment for your child. Please review the information in this packet in order to be familiar with our procedures, policies, and requirements.
HOURS
Our facility is open from 5:45 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. All children are to be dropped off no earlier than 5:45 a.m. and picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. There is a $.25 per minute, per child, late charge for those who are late picking up their children by the 5:30 p.m. closing time. When picking up your child, you must sign him/her out on the chart provided by the day care worker.
3 AND 4 YEAR OLDS
These children will need a sheet, blanket and pillow for nap time. Also bring a bathing suit (one piece for girls) and a towel. Other recommended items are: sunscreen and a floatation device (if needed for swimming). NOTE! PUT YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON ALL ITEMS.
5 YEAR OLDS (THOSE WHO WERE IN KINDERGARTEN FOR THE 2009-2010 YEAR)
Bring a bathing suit (one piece for girls/boxer type for boys), towel, sunscreen, and a floatation device (if needed for swimming) NOTE! PUT YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON ALL ITEMS.
1ST – 6TH GRADERS
Bring a bathing suit (one piece for girls/boxer type for boys), towel, sunscreen, and money for drinks at the snack bar.
FIELD TRIPS
1st-6th graders go on two field trips per week. On Tuesday, children go to a nearby park for a cookout, and on Thursday, various activities are scheduled such as bowling, miniature golf, etc. Please see the field trip schedule for this summer (available in the main office). Be sure to keep this schedule available so that you know how much money your child needs each Thursday. Money for field trips will be collected as soon as your child arrives at day care in the morning. (Put all field trip money in an envelope marked with the child’s name so we know who paid for their field trip). Departure time for field trips is approximately 9:30 a.m.
MEDICAL RESOURCES
We are staffed with workers certified in CPR and First Aid. Please alert us of any medical need that your child may have. All medicine is to be kept in the main office, unless other arrangements have been made.
DISCIPLINE
We are committed to providing a structured, safe, and enjoyable environment for all children in our care. Because of this commitment, it is essential that each child obey the rules given by the day care workers. We will be flexible and fair in dealing with each child, but we cannot tolerate continued behavior problems. We will communicate with you concerning your child, and be available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
FACILITIES
PLAYGROUND
The boundaries of the playground are the fence, the edge of the hill, the ridge facing the factory and the blacktop. (All will be explained to the children.)
Playground rules are as follows:
No throwing sticks, stones, sand, etc.
Proper use of and respect for the equipment is required at all times.
Always ask permission before leaving the playground.
Treat others with respect at all times.
SWIMMING POOL
The pool ranges from 1 ft. to 5 ft. in depth. Children that cannot swim will be instructed on the boundaries of the pool area that they may swim in.
Pool rules are as follows:
No diving
No running
No rough behavior that compromises the safety of others.
CAFETERIA
Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. each morning. Please provide cereal, pop tart, etc. for your child if you would like us to give them breakfast. We provide the bowls, cups, spoons, and milk. Lunch is included in the cost of day care and provided for each child. Children may pack their lunch if they wish. 1st-6th graders may also purchase sodas and other drinks for $.50. Please alert us to any special meal restrictions your child might have.
GYMNASIUM
The gym is primarily used by the 1st-6th grade children. Children have access to basketball, board games, and other various indoor sports. In addition, there is a snack bar where snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon for $.50.
DAY CARE ROOM
The day care room is the first room on your left when you enter the main building at the side entrance. This room is used primarily in the morning and late afternoon and on rainy days. It is supplied with toys and tables for various activities, and a TV/VCR. Children ages 3-5 will keep their belongings in this room on a hook with their name on it.
The tentative schedule for this room is as follows:
5:45 a.m.-7:30 a.m. all children are to be dropped off here
9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. 3-5 year olds
4:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. 3-5 year olds (if not in the playground)
4:45 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. all children (if not in the playground)
ELDERLY DAY CARE BUILDING
This building is located adjacent to the garage. It is primarily used by 3-4 year olds for nap time. (1:00 to 3:00 p.m.)
A REGISTRATION FEE FOR CHILDLREN NOT ENROLLED AT RED LION CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IS $25.00 AND DUE WITH THE COMPLETED APPLICATION.
NOTE! The last day of Summer Child Care for all children not enrolled at Red Lion Christian School for the 2010-2011 school year is August 13, 2010.
NOTE!
All children attending our program will be billed a minimum of 3 days a week. If your child only attends two days you will still be billed for three. Each child will be allowed one week (for vacation) during the summer in which we will not charge the parents day care.
Please direct any questions concerning charges or payments to the main office. If your child attends school at Red Lion Christian School, you are given a discounted price.
