Red Lion Bible Church Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant and preserved by God in the English language as we have it today, known as the King James 1611 Bible, and that it is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Peter 1:20, II Timothy 3:16)



2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4)



3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth , in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His Ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. (Luke 1:35)



4. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; that man sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; and that all humans are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word and deed. (Romans 3:23)



5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of his shed blood (I Cor. 15:3)



6. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God; that they are indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit and are secure in Him until the day of redemption. (John 1:12)



7. We believe the Gospel message is simple enough for a small child to understand and to respond to it. (Matthew 19:14)



8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the Lost. (John 5:28,29)



9. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.



10. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
